LOOK OF THE DAY: home of the telephone

(mohair sweater - vintage; short - SIMONs; boots - vintage; bag - vintage)

HEY GUYS! So, as you can see, Linds and I are in Brantford for the week. We've been having a lot of fun walking on old bridges, making eggs benny, talking to strangers, playing pictionary and thrifting. I found the mohair sweater I'm wearing in this look yesterday and had to buy it. We also took a 'behind the scenes' video of this shoot, getting ready blah blah. That'll be up when we're back in Montreal.

Right now I'm sitting on our couch. Yup! The one that will be in our apartment next year! Okay, I'm off.

Hey Hey! Sorry for taking so long to post these photos, but I've been sick all week! Fashion week totally did me in this season. Luckily I'm almost fully recovered, with just a slight fever today.

Apart from the illness, I had a great fashion week! I was so happy to finally have the chance to take my dear friend Divya (pictured above) to a few shows - we've been meaning to go together since last year. Div is such a sweetie, and we had an amazing time together!

Lindsay and I are taking the train to Ottawa on Saturday, and then a few days later we're going on to Brantford. I hope everyone had a nice Valentines Day!

I've just published my reviews for Day One and Two shows on the Vancouver Sun website. Here's a link --> Clicky!

It's hard to believe that this is the fourth fashion week I've attended here in Montreal. It seems like just yesterday that I attended my first show!
Though I'll be writing more thorough write ups for the Vancouver Sun later today about the collections themselves, I will say quickly that I was very impressed!

Okay, I have to go get ready for round two!

LOOK OF THE DAY: sleepy saturdays

I think that there's nothing better than waking up slowly on a Saturday morning with the sun streaming in your window. I spent the day in my baggiest pair of blue jeans, eating strawberries and drawing. Tomorrow the craziness starts with my first fashion show of the season and an article to write for the Sun, but for now I'm not thinking about that..

LOOK OF THE DAY: do I have to name this one too?

(trousers; blazer - ZARA; shoe - vintage)

In my opinion any pant that makes you look like a pauper from the 19th century is well worth taking photos of, even in -10 degree weather. Paired with a structured blazer, I think the whole look is pretty cool and one I'd wear more often if snow didn't prevent the requisite shoe choice.

As most of you know, Montreal Fashion Week starts in a few days. I have shows all day from the 5th to the 9th, and between writing for the Vancouver Sun and Ad Idem I can promise you I'll be a wreck by the time it's all over. Having said that, I'm really excited!!
