tis the season.

Merry Christmas!! I hope that you've all been spending your time wrapping gifts, decorating gingerbread men and visiting with family. I know I have! Since McGill is allowing us much more of a break than normal, I won't be back in Montreal until January 10th. Given that I'm staying in the East after I graduate in April, it'll be nice to have a little extra time at home. Okay I have to go get ready for tonight's festivities, but enjoy your Christmas and I'll see you in the New Year!

LOOK OF THE DAY: you call it chivalry, never pull a punch for free

LOOK OF THE DAY: All I want for Christmas is you.

(sweater-thrift; leggings-The Bay; boots-Chinese Laundry)

I spent the day in downtown Victoria with Meryl for her 22nd Birthday. You may not have noticed but my hair is back to brunette! I am going back to my roots (no pun intended).

I'm heading to Mexico for Christmas! Expect beach photos in the New Year. For now it's final's time where I get to watch lots of documentaries on the Beatles (yes, that's a class). Happy holidays everyone!

LOOK OF THE DAY: I feel you shake and I know the pleasure of my design.

(blouse - ZARA; pants - ZARA; wedge shoe - ALDO)

Hello. I'm sorry, I haven't been home much this semester so it's been difficult to schedule a shoot. In other news, Lindsay and I have started DJing Thursdays at this little club near my apartment, and we're having a lot of fun with it. I'm heading home for the holidays on the 22nd. I believe I will get to see Natalie for a few days while I'm there.

I listened to this song called Hurt Love by No Ceremony today. It's a really unusual band that no one seems to know much about. Their cover art is wicked though.

Otherwise it's all been Cream, the Reatards, and Iggy Pop of late.

you were burning; now you're black and grey

Tonight was the Quartier de la Mode Event, a set of shows by designers Martin Lim, Marie Saint Pierre, Zenobia Bawa, Michel Desjardins, Isabelle Elie, Yves Jean Lacasse, Helmer, Nadya Toto, Jean-François Morissette and SHAN. It took place at Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montreal. Having attended the West Coast Mercedes-Benz Start Up event in Vancouver this summer, I was particularly excited to see looks by designer Martin Lim, the competition's winner. I can see why he was selected, his designs were very impressive.

We also found a model girlfriend for Andrew. She looked like Jemina Pearl from Be Your Own Pet!

UPDATE: I just received a tweet from Lim. How sweet! And yes, we definitely have to meet soon! :)

the night's not over; you're not trying hard enough

Today, while watching old Strokes videos on YouTube I remembered something..

Back during NYFW, before the Falguni & Shane Peacock show, I spotted this really cute, sort of hipstery boy. He was tall, well dressed and toting a large camera. He and his friend (similarly dressed) were taking a few photos on the runway, but they didn't look like they were taking themselves very seriously. I assumed they were music/fashion bloggers because one of them looked really familiar and they were talking to Bam Margera. There weren't many people in the darkened venue (Falguni being one of the last shows of the day) and as I looked at the familiar looking one curiously, we made eye contact (wah!). A few minutes later, the pair skipped out still joking around with each other. Only now do I realize why his face was so familiar - I'm almost positive it was Julian Casablancas!! Now I truly feel like an idiot. All I can say is that I was extremely tired.

He was wearing one of his signature jackets - a red piped military-esque blazer.

Here's a video of the show (I'm sitting second row on the left):

we call her a believer

Christine Centenera of Harper's Bazaar is my favourite international fashion editor..I adore her even more than I do Anna Dello Russo. Centenera's style is utterly flawless and I love how she is not afraid to play with her looks. Though I definitely don't have her budget, I've tried to emulate her outfits in the past.

In other news.. It's Halloween this weekend! Lindsay and I are going as Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World. Celebrating BOO-season will be fun, but I have so many school-related things to do first!

LOOK OF THE DAY: she creeps me out; she cranks me in again

(top - vintage; leggings; shoe - LITA)

Everyone went to the Jay Reatard documentary "Better than Something" last night. It was amazing! Definitely a must-see if you're a fan. Tonight I am choosing to ignore all my homework and go out! Hope you're doing the same!!!
